Well, friends, we had a monumental night at the Comm in Cobh last Saturday night. My guests, John Dennis, Dee O'Regan and Aces Wild were amazing. The audience
were the best I've played to in some time. It's always wonderful to do a hometown show.

I'm very shortly going into the studio to record a whole bunch of new songs. These are going to be pretty different from the stuff on the previous two albums in that
they very much come from a rock/ country/ jazz background. There will always be an element of traditional Irish song involved though. They'll be recorded with a full band.
I'm really excited about these new songs which have taken me more than a year to write. I've loved having the oul Telecaster out again, and pissing the neighbours off.

The writing is going along nicely for the new album.
This album will be totally different from the previous two. Virtually all of the songs that are coming together are band-orientated so it's a new direction.

BLUE PLAYS THE FIDDLE
A few people have asked me what this one is about. It's about the end of simpler times, the end of innocence . For many people I've known over the years this, for them, coincided with the death of Robert Kennedy.
Thanks for all the kind words about this song. I wasn't going to include it on the album, but I'm glad I did.
At the moment, friends, I'm playing around many of the folk clubs in London and the South East. Keep a look out for me. I'd love to see you all.

I had a wonderful night at DARTFORD FOLK CLUB last Tuesday night. I did a few songs before the main guests who were CLOUDSTREET from Australia.
The audience in Dartford is wonderful, appreciative and welcoming. The organisers - Pam, Alan and Colin are wonderful. They've kept the club running now for 37yrs. Amazing!!
I'm really looking forward to doing a few numbers before Irish Folk legend Andy Irvine in a couple of weeks time.

The date is Friday Dec 3 at 8pm. Tickets will be on sale at the Sirius soon.
